RX’s Natural Disaster & Emergency Management (NDEM) Brand Announces Strategic Industry Partnerships

Norwalk, CT (August 4, 2021) – Natural Disaster & Emergency Management (NDEM) is excited to announce a collection of strategic partnerships focused on providing comprehensive and quality content to key decisionmakers of non-profit, for-profit, and government organizations that are attending the inaugural NDEM Expo this November in New York City, in order to help fortify their emergency management, disaster response, and business continuity plans and procedures.

"We are thrilled to welcome each of these amazing organizations as strategic partners of NDEM Expo,” said Mary Beth Shaughnessy, Event Director for NDEM. “More than ever, businesses and communities of all sizes are challenged in light of increasing natural disasters and the extreme, unanticipated impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. Now is the time to collaborate with these organizations to help make the NDEM brand an even more valuable resource for the industry and make organizations more prepared and resilient.”

Current NDEM strategic partners include:

  • The National Center for Disaster Preparedness at the Earth Institute / Columbia University works to understand and improve the nation’s capacity to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. NCDP focuses on the readiness of governmental and non-governmental systems; the complexities of population recovery; the power of community engagement; and the risks of human vulnerability, with a particular focus on children.
  • SBP solves the challenges facing at-risk communities by bringing the discipline, process, and rigor of business and innovation to create social impact and shrink the time between disaster and recovery.
  • Sitch Radio is a full-service podcast studio specializing in emergency management content production. NDEM’s Prepare. Respond. Recover. Podcast, produced by Sitch Radio and hosted by emergency management expert Todd De Voe, has successfully produced over two dozen episodes this year. NDEM also has a year-round partnership and sponsorship relationship with the prominent EM Weekly brand, which is also led by Todd De Voe. De Voe, a graduate of the National Emergency Management Executive Academy's Cohort, is an active member of the International Association of Emergency Managers and has helped develop the Coastline Community College emergency management program, while teaching there and at the University of California Irvine.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting intersection of industry and academic partners," said Jeff Schlegelmilch, director of the National Center for Disaster Preparedness at Columbia University's Earth Institute. "As the COVID-19 pandemic and countless other disasters have shown us, it is the whole community that is needed to effectively manage disasters. At the center of all of this are engagements that bring everyone together to share best practices and lessons learned. NDEMs efforts in facilitating this is a welcomed addition to the important work of building resilience in our communities and across our nation."

The NDEM brand has launched NDEM Digital, the year-round business continuity and emergency management resource dedicated to the preparation, response, and recovery of physical and human assets of public and private organizations. Enjoy the Prepare. Respond. Recover. Podcast featuring industry experts talking about the tools you need to make your organization more secure and resilient, all while minimizing operational disruptions and ensuring public safety in this ever-changing world.

The first edition of NDEM Expo will be taking place November 17-18, 2021, in conjunction with the International Security Conference & Exposition (ISC) East at the Javits Center in New York City.
